The following is the privacy policy of Le Support of the Quebec Intellectual Disability Society with regard to the confidentiality of the personal data collected through the Le Support website (hereinafter known as the SITE).

No personal data collected without your knowledge

Le Support does not collect any of your personal data when you navigate the SITE, unless you voluntarily supply this information by explicitly subscribing to a specific service inviting you to do so. You can always refuse to do this, or cancel a subscription to a customization service to which you are already a subscriber.

Collected personal data

The personal data that you are invited to provide to the SITE, such as your name, email address and other information, is used to personalize the service you receive on the SITE and to send you information by email if you so choose. Le Support may periodically send promotional emails to SITE users who choose to receive them regarding services provided by Le Support or to share important news with you.

Cookies

Le Support uses cookies to recognize SITE users in order to offer them the personalization services to which they have subscribed and to keep track of their visits to the SITE. Le Support also uses cookies to assess SITE traffic or to establish pricing for its advertising space. At any time, you can choose to no longer use cookies by modifying your browser configuration.

Other information

When you interact with the SITE, some information is automatically collected, but none of it personally identifies you. This information includes the domain name and IP address you are using to access the SITE, as well as your browser type (the software you use to browse the Internet) and operating system. Le Support uses this data for statistical purposes to analyze SITE access and help us improve it.

Disclosure of personal data

Without your explicit and prior consent, the use of personal data collected by Le Support remains strictly limited to Le Support and is not accessible to anyone else, with the exception of what is stated in the Statistics and Advertising and Legal Compliance sections. Only the authorized representatives of Le Support who are in charge of managing and developing the SITE can access the data collected from it. These representatives or agents have been instructed to comply with this Privacy Policy.

Statistics and advertising

Le Support may conduct statistical analyses of users’ behaviour in order to assess the interest generated by the different sections of the SITE and improve them. Personal data about you as users will not be provided to third parties without your consent, subject to circumstances described in the Legal Compliance section.

Legal compliance

Le Support may disclose personal data about a user if we are legally compelled to do so or if we believe, in good faith, that such a disclosure is necessary in order to (1) comply with any law or regulation in effect or with a legal process; (2) protect and defend our rights and interests or those of our users; (3) protect ourselves against all unauthorized use of the SITE; or (4) protect the personal safety or interests of our users or the general public.

Internet-related risks

Despite all the precautions taken by Le Support to ensure that third parties do not access your personal data via the SITE, leaks can potentially occur. The Internet offers no intrinsic guarantee of security, so data transferred via the Internet can potentially be intercepted, lost or altered. Le Support does not accept responsibility for damage resulting from possible access by a third party via the Internet to the personal data of SITE members, who therefore use the SITE at their own risk.

Reservations

Le Support reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy without warning and therefore encourages you to review it periodically.

By navigating on the SITE, you consent without any reserve whatsoever to this Privacy Policy in its entirety.
